MISC INFORMATION
The first vampires came about from the Darkness. The Darkness was an entity that was evil incarnate. It overcame, infected, it's target and exposed the dark corners of the soul. This dark took over the human and over powered them. Some were able to overcome the darkness within them, most were not. One of the effects of the Darkness was to turn a select few into what we know to be vampires. The vampires created by Darkness are able to turn others, but it's not recommended. The vampires that were turned by the Darkness have the unique ability to exposed the dark in other vampires and humans alike. This power needs to be used with restraint and responsibility as it has the side effect of making the target insane. The Darkness Vampires CAN NOT turn others just by exposing the darkness. And the darkness exposed is not permanent. This is a temporary effect and it depends on the inner strength of the target.
The vampires of Underdeep are in various stages of sunlight immunity. One vampire can survive all day in the sunlight because he believes the sun has absolutely no effect on them. The next would explode the second sun hits him because he believes this would happen. Basically, the sunlight theory is reliant on what the vampire, personally, believes.
ANYTHING CAN KILL A VAMPIRE. The vampires of Underdeep are more diseased than supernatural. If the vampire is losing blood faster than he can heal...he WILL die. If the heart is destroyed or stopped...he WILL die.
If a vampire drinks another vampire's blood, he will transform into something hideous, monstrous, dangerous. Vampire blood is a drug and highly addictive. Any vampire drinking of another vampire's blood will be hunted. Once caught, the vampire will either go through rehab or killed. Drinking of vampire blood in Underdeep is a crime.
A vampire must drink at least 8 ounces (one cup) of blood every 4-5 hours. Like the sunlight theory, however, if the vampire believes he can eat “normal” food than he can. If he doesn't believe then he can't. Simple as that. Some vampires drink more than that just for the taste. Some vampires choose to only consume blood, some choose to consume blood and solid foods.
