POWERS BY FACTION
All Factions
Strength – For every five years of the vampire, the strength increases by one.
Ex. - Joe is a 20 year old vampire so his strength is four times that of a normal human.
Speed – For every three years of the vampire, the speed increases by one.
Ex. - Joe is a 20 year old vampire so his speed is six times that of a normal vampire.
Heal – Healing is different. There is a base figure for a brand new vampire, the time decreases after that. For every two years of the vampire, the heal decreases by one hour, day, or week. The base time for minor wounds is 24 hours. The base time for major wounds is three days. The base time for broken bones is three weeks.
Ex. 1 - Joe is a 20 year old vampire. A bullet grazed him while he was above ground. The base healing time is 24 hours. Since he is 20 years old, his healing decreases by ten hours. His wound will take 14 hours to heal.
Ex. 2 – Jane is a 15 year old vampire and got stabbed by a pissed off vampire. Her base time is three days. Since she is 15 years old her healing decreases by seven and a half days. Wait. That can't be right. So we take it down to one day. That leaves 5.5. We would convert that to hours and now she has a healing time of 18.5 hours.
Ex. 3 – Richard is a five year old vampire and fell from a tall building, breaking his leg. He has a base time of three weeks healing time. Since he is five his healing decreases by two and a half weeks. It will take three and a half days (three days and 12 hours) to heal his broken leg.
As a note, the moderators will post how long wounds will take to heal. They will post this information in the morning each day.
Level 1 Charm – Can charm anyone up to two years younger than themselves. The charm lasts for as long as the vampire is talking to the charmed one. The charmed can't be influenced to do something they wouldn't normally do.
Level 1 Night Vision – All vampires have the ability to see in the dark to some extent as long as there is even the smallest light source – stars, moon, night light, etc. The night vision will allow the vampire to see in the dark like a dog or a cat. They can't see details as they would in the light, but can see enough to not be fumbling.
Baroque
Level 2 Charm – Can charm anyone up to five years younger than themselves. The charm lasts for as long as the vampire is talking to the charmed one. The Baroque can't influence another vampire to do something they wouldn't ordinarily do.
Grace – Baroque vampires have the grace of a cat. They can fall from higher heights and land on their feet. Because of this they also know how to land to cause minimal damage. The height they can fall from is directly related to their age. A 20 year old baroque vampire can fall from a maximum height of
Nosferatu
Shadow Meld – The ability to become one with the shadows and hide in the darkness. Shadow meld lasts as long as there is no light.
Level 2 Night Vision - Level 3 night vision allows the nosferatu to see in the darkness just as well as seeing in the light. There aren't any repercussions as long as light coming into the dark is gradual. If there is a sudden light, the nosferatu is temporarily blinded.
Patrician
Level 3 Charm - Can charm anyone their age or younger. The charm lasts for as long as the vampire is talking to the charmed one. The Patrician can't influence another vampire to do something they wouldn't ordinarily do.
Influence – Can influence anyone to do whatever they ask (as long as it doesn't impede on the rules of the forum). This is a tricky power. You MUST clear it with the other person BEFORE using the power.
Protean
Tracking/Hunting – The Protean can hunt or track their prey like a big cat. They can smell or sense their prey within five miles. Their instincts are heightened and can identify different tracking characteristics; footprints, marks on trees, scent trails, etc.
Level 2 Night Vision - Level 3 night vision allows the protean to see in the darkness just as well as seeing in the light. There aren't any repercussions as long as light coming into the dark is gradual. If there is a sudden light, the protean is temporarily blinded.
Pseudo
Shimmer – Shimmer allows the pseudo vampire to control the energy surrounding him to hide in plain sight so to speak. Shimmer relies heavily on mass spectrum hypnotism. Shimmer lasts up to 8 hours. This is the only power that is not reliant on the age of the vampire.
Resistance to Hunger – The vampires of the Pseudo faction can go without blood longer than most vampires. The base rate is 4-5 hours. For a pseudo, they can go an extra 30 minutes per year of vampire age. So a 20 year old vampire can go for 10 hours without NEEDING blood.
Renegade
Level 2 Heal – Renegades are notorious for getting into scrapes and even full blown brawls. Because of this, their bodies have adapted and sped up the healing process slightly. Renegades heal the same base rate divided by 2.
Rage – Renegades are notorious for having a short fuse. Because of this they have the ability to rage. Contrary to appearances, they are able to control this rage. When they go into a rage, their speed and strength increases. Rage is temporary only lasting one seconds per vampire age. Think of it in terms of a cheetah. So if a 20 year old vampire goes into a rage, he is there for 10 seconds. This doesn't sound like a lot, but when you have extraordinary speed and strength, you can get a lot done in 10 seconds. This is just long enough to get the upper hand in a normally one sided fight.
